Went the dragstrip with JRSC for first time!!

Hi all,

I went to the dragstrip Friday night in Commerce, GA for the first time since my JRSC installation.
I'm very excited and pleased with the results. My first run was pretty awful, I launched very badly and spun all through 1st and 2nd gear and part of 3rd, finally the tires caught but with such little forward momentum that I bogged, I also managed to hit the rev limiter at every shift !! I managed a 15.687 at 96.98 mph. I was totally bummed because I ran a 15.49 at 90.54 mph before the blower!!
I went back and tried to launch more carefully and my times got progressively better. In my next 3 runs I got in the high 14's and up to 97.83 mph.
My buddy with his modified Mustang GT ran 14.2 at over 100 mph with slicks. Then I managed a 14.366 at 98.26 mph!! He left but I ran one more time after resting a while my last run was 14.147 at 99.34 mph !!
That was still with very mediocre launch (2.303 0-60). All my runs were with street tires at 28 psi. I did take out the back & pax seats, and the spare tire & jack.
The back seat is a waste of time, the whole thing cannot weigh 10 lb !!
Wow, I'm sure that with more skill I can get in the 13's with street tires and surely will with slicks . I'm running the 6 psi configuration with very conservative timing and have not dyno tuned it yet. I'm really having fun with this. I never thought that I could run as fast as my friends 'Stang, I'm tickled that I actually got a faster time! His car is very strong, he dynoed at 285 rwhp and about the same torque! It was really fun to watch all the guys get blown away by a "4 door grocery getter"

I have to admit you did better than I did the first time I went out there. I couldnt brake a 14.5 if my life depended on it.. (I did 16 runs too!) My first run was a 15.8 Something about that very first run I tell ya! Granted the conditions were very awful that day, but just recently I went back on a clear day still hot&humid (live in houston and temps are in the 90s) My time slip was:

Unfortunetly I didnt get that many runs in (conditions were as good as they were going to get around hear) it was packed. But I am very pleased to know there is room for improvement looking at the 60' time. At least we can both say that we beat JR advertised 14.2 which makes me feel good. I honestly was a little disappointed after my first day at the track. Oh and by the way, isnt it a great feeling to beat those mustangs.. they catch so much slack for getting beat by an import around here
